String Quartet No. 1
(“City Walks”)
A sweeping, colorful journey in one movement
This single-movement work, approximately 13 minutes in duration, was a finalist for The American Prize in Chamber Music. The piece moves through sharply contrasting sections, from an expansive, elegiac cello solo to a lively, headlong Presto finish.
These excerpts use the Juventas New Music Ensemble’s recording, featured on the 2026 Navona Records album THROUGHLINES.
