It's not always a question of writing what you want. It's a question of getting the right people to perform it. Or at least consider it. My point is that my stuff seems like a hard sell at the moment. Theater companies are understaffed and overextened (like orchestras), and aren't as likely to take a chance on something that's not immediately recognizable to them. Thanks, Frank.
